Let’s clear the air: Fed is best. I don’t have any opinions on your choice of breastfeeding or bottle feeding. We have done a mix of both, and I’m glad breastfeeding worked for me. Honestly, it was really convenient for travel. I mean, it’s like a magic trick to make my baby stop fussing when we fly. But I also have mom friends who bottle feed on flights and think that has to be more convenient than nursing. It’s all up to you. But if you’re nursing like me, you need some good nursing gear for those travel days. So here they are: My best recommendations. These are the best nursing clothes for traveling moms!

Nursing Camisoles

This is the secret to my nursing success. Okay, that might be an overstatement, but for real, I wear one of these nearly every day. It doesn’t matter what shirt, sweater, or jacket I wear over it, I can pull up my top layer and open the strap without giving everyone a show, if you know what I mean. They’re comfortable, convenient, and versatile. I love them, and you need them!

Nursing Tank Tops

Similarly, nursing tank tops are some of the best nursing clothes I own. I love mine. Wear one with a bra or not, wear it under a shirt or not. You do you. My second summer as a nursing mom, my uniform around the house and out and about was jean shorts and a nursing tank top. Sometimes I sleep in one. They’re just so easy and really cute. Great for home life, great for travel days, great for touring around a new city and stopping to nurse as needed.

Nursing Dresses

I’ll happily admit it: I like to feel pretty. The easiest way to do that? Throw on a dress. Unfortunately, it’s harder to pull up an entire dress than it is a shirt. Enter: The nursing dress. I love these so much, and usually, no one can tell that it’s a nursing dress, except me (and maybe my baby). These are so pretty, so feminine, and for a moment, maybe you can forget you’re wearing nursing clothes. I’ve traveled the world with these, from Hawai’i to Egypt to France, and at home as well.

Nursing Tees

Sometimes you just need something comfortable, easy, and accessible. These nursing tees, some with hidden zippers and some with hidden openings, fit the bill. I like them a little bit oversized and wear them with jeans, leggings, or shorts in summer. Not only are they ideal for airplane travel days, they’re comfortable enough to wear (and re-wear) throughout any trip.

Nursing Bras

You can have all the nursing clothes in the world, but if you don’t have a comfortable nursing bra, you’re nowhere. I definitely lean more toward the sports bra end of things, no matter what I’m wearing. They’re usually very comfortable and supportive, which is really important on travel days (hello, overnight flights!). When necessary, however, I have actually found a couple of comfortable, uncomplicated, non-sport nursing bras I like. Take a look at the ones below!
