My favorite kind of shopping? Definitely coffee shopping! Local coffee shops can be quirky, funky, classy, anything really. It’s kind if like a box of chocolates… You never know what you’re gonna get! Savannah has everything. I lost count of how many coffee shops Iris and I tried out, but we did all the hard work for you on our whirlwind-weekend trip. Here are the best coffee shops in Savannah!
Maté Factor Cafe and Bakery
This cafe and bakery is surprisingly not exclusively a coffee shop and bakery. It’s a maté shop! What’s maté? I’d never heard of it before, but it’s a form of green tea, though it does taste more like coffee. Their Mayan Mocha was amazing, and I would definitely go back for another. I also grabbed one of their Synergy bars on a whim, and I liked it so much, I got a second one to take with me before I left! The shop is just a couple blocks off of Forsythe Park, so this is a great spot if you’re looking for something very local, very cute, and very yummy.

Savannah Coffee Roasters
This was my second time at Savannah Coffee Roasters, and it’s still a favorite! Iris and I grabbed breakfast and coffee here on a Saturday morning, and it was just the right way to start our first full day in Savannah. My blueberry latte was a fruity delight, and Iris thoroughly enjoyed her croissant and whole milk. This local favorite was recommended to me by a friend in the city, and they did not steer me wrong!

Origin Coffee Bar
Looking for something with a modern-industrial vibe? Origin Coffee Bar is for you. I loved the white walls, interior arch details, and green plants. We stopped in for air conditioning and cold beverages, and it was definitely the right move. You can get breakfast and pastries here as well, but if you’re just coming for the coffee, you’ll be pleased. We sat at the large couch by the window here and enjoyed our mocha and milk. Iris loved having her whole milk in a teeny tiny cup.

Henny Penny
Moms and dads, put this one on your “must go” list! Henny Penny is a coffee shop with a side of kid-friendliness. The Mexican mocha really perked me up mid-day, and Iris was a fan of her “juice” (super berry lemonade). The real fun, though? Kids can paint, read, and play to their hearts’ content! Several tables are kid-sized, and the whole place is decorated so adorably! This was another recommendation from my local friend, and it was a huge winner for a mom and toddler looking for a refreshing, indoor activity.

Coffee Fox
Right on West Broughton, you’ll find the Coffee Fox. This was a very good coffee stop on a hot day. I had what could be the best iced lavender latte of my life, and Iris was so excited for a huge croissant and a tiny milk! It was the perfect mid-morning pit-stop, but we certainly could have made a meal from their pastry case, too. Definitely putting this one on the list for our next trip to the “Hostess City of the South.”

Mirabelle
So, this place is adorable—floral wallpaper, pretty to-go cups, a beautiful old building across from a church, indulgent menu, etc. It’s perfect for a coffee to-go and a pretty, Instagrammable photo-op! I can highly recommend the sea salt mocha, which I would get every day if I lived here!
That said, I have to tell you that this is not the place to sit and stay a while. The 90s alternative rock music blaring did not match the sweet vibe I got from the decor, and the (albeit delicious) waffles and other foods come in to-go containers instead of on any sort of pretty plate (such a missed opportunity). So, go ahead and skip it for a meal. There are good waffles elsewhere in the city.

Franklin’s
Iris and I stopped in here on our last morning in Savannah, but we should have come every day! Their banana pudding latte (banana and white chocolate perfection) was incredible, and they had plenty of other flavors that I wish I’d had time to try as well! Iris loved sitting on their diner-style bar stools, and enjoyed her croissant while I fueled up with a ham and cheese quiche. Highly recommended for coffee, grab-and-go snacks or lunch, and breakfast.
